While Anthony Kiedis and the gang prep for the release of their new record, 'I'm With You,' the band's former guitarist John Frusciante is doing his best to dodge a stalker. "I am worried that she is unstable and that she could snap at any moment," Frusciante said after filing for a restraining order against 32-year-old August Elizabeth Thomas earlier this month.
According to Exclaim, the order was finally granted on Aug. 24, which should put an end to the "long, rambling and overly emotional" e-mails the guitarist has been receiving from the overzealous fan who's been keeping overly close tabs on his life.
Thomas, who was reportedly writing a screenplay about the musician as well (what an enterprising stalker, indeed), now must remain 100 yards away from Frusciante for the next two years. Hopefully that doesn't mean the 32-year-old will move on to one of the guys who are actually, you know, still in the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
