Foo Fighters Win Best Rock Video -- MTV VMAs 2011

Foo Fighters took the Best Rock Video at the MTV Video Music Awards. Dave Grohl, formerly of Nirvana, accepted the award, with a special message to the audience: "Don't lose faith in real rock 'n' roll music!" The frontman also gave a dedication shout out to Judy McGrath, former MTV networks CEO who resigned from her post earlier this year. The stalwart band beat out talented rockers the Black Keys, Foster the People, Mumford & Sons, and Cage the Elephant.

Grohl's battle cry was in keeping with the message of the Foos' comedic video. The clip features the lead man stuck in traffic, provoked into a wild-man state after seeing "Bieber Is My Co-Pilot" and "Thank You President Bush" bumper stickers. He abandons his car, brawls at a cheeseburger joint and rocks out victoriously with his buddies ... until the cops come. It's all worth keeping rock 'n' roll alive!
