Wavves Bassist Gets Kicked Out of VMAs for Pot, Band Debuts 'Dave Grohl' Song

At Sunday nights MTV VMAs, perpetually plastered Wavves frontman Nathan Williams took to Twitter to chronicle his night of debauchery. He cataloged the evening with a series of posts that ranged from "Heading to tha VMAs right now popping pills and bottles" to "I guess I'm takin this acid" and "ahhhhh the ppl I have to sit next to godamnit I might leave this s--- and go drink in the car."

On top of that, he also revealed that Wavves bassist Stephen Pope was kicked out of the ceremony for having marijuana. "F-------- @SteviePopJr already got kicked out for having weed and booze? Ahhhhh I gotta sit by myself now" and "Damn f--- what the f--- they took dudes fingerprints for having pot?"

It wasn't all drugs and controversy, though. The lo-fi rockers also released their new song, 'I Wanna Meet Dave Grohl,' which will appear on their upcoming 'Life Sux' EP and MTV's new show, 'I Just Want My Pants Back." The track is the first of nearly 20 tunes Williams penned as "guest composer" exclusively for the show's first season. The EP will be available via Williams' own Ghost Ramp label on Sept. 20, and you can download the song from MTV.
