Madonna Apologizes to Hydrangeas in Weirdly Funny Video

Since a video of Madonna disgustedly accepting and dumping a bouquet of hydrangeas at a Venice Film Festival press conference has become a viral hit, the singer has decided to quell the snickering press by releasing a parody video "apology" to the flowers.

The original video features the Material Girl, promoting her period film 'W.E.,' being handed the hated bunch of flowers and shoving them under the table. The singer is seen to roll her eyes, muttering, "I absolutely loathe hydrangeas. He obviously doesn't know that." In the video spoof released today, Madonna tenderly cradles flowers as mournful music plays. Through a sepia-tinted peephole, she mimes along with a subtitled apology.

"You have no idea how many nights I have lost thinking how I hurt you. Words cannot express how sorry I am. To think I may have caused you pain. My heart is going to burst with sadness." But don't be fooled by her words and stand by for a silent movie star-worthy tantrum.

"I need to know in time you may forgive me. If I could take back my words I would but I can't so what am I left with?" she mime-whimpers, then silently screams: "I'm left with the fact I still hate hydrangeas! And I will always hate them! It's a free country! So f--- you, I like roses!"

The least high-profile detail of the hydrangeas debacle is that of the flower-giver himself. Turns out, that it wasn't a careless fan, but a Belgian television prankster personality Vitalli Sediuk who had studied Madonna's interviews and presented the unwanted gift on purpose, fully aware of Madonna's allergy to the puffy-headed plants. He later "forgave" Madonna for disposing of the flowers by leaving them on the floor.
