Gringo Star Prep for the Apocalypse on 'Count Yer Lucky Stars' -- Song Premiere

Atlanta's Gringo Star will return with its second full-length next month. Titled 'Count Yer Lucky Stars,' the Georgia quartet coalesces around their familiar, urgent pop songs, and now they're premiering the title track, an early example of their sophomore effort.

"'Count Yer Lucky Stars' was just an exercise in creating a pop song in 30 minutes," multi-instrumentalist Nick Furgiuele tells Spinner. "Peter just had this piano riff, and we improved the rest, scribbled out some lyrics about the end of the world and it turned out we kept it and named the album after it."

Listeners should be counting their lucky stars they get this solid chunk of rock music instead of the apocalypse. 'Count Yer Lucky Stars' is out Oct. 25 via Gigantic Music.
