Bloc Party Confirm They're Looking for New Singer, Kele Officially Out?

In an interview with the NME, guitarist Russell Lissack has revealed that the British band "might get a singer" for the new music it's been working on. Absent from the recent sessions has been vocalist Kele Okereke, who wasn't told the group was recording.
Okereke only found out because he happened to see his three bandmates enter a New York City studio without him. The implication was that he'd been sacked, at least for the time being, and in his chat with the NME, Lissack confirmed the obvious.
"It's not really a secret because Kele's been pretty busy doing solo stuff and it looks like he's going to be doing that a bit longer," Lissack said, insisting there are no "bad vibes" between the apparently ousted frontman and Bloc Party's remaining members.
Okereke is gearing up to release his solo EP 'The Hunter,' the follow-up to his 2010 album 'The Boxer.'
UPDATE: The band has posted this on its website: "Bloc Party is still Bloc Party. See you soon." Thanks for clarifying.

crazy how many people are judging the type of music this person plays by the color of his skin. they're a pop/rock band. not rap or hip hop. SUPRISE! not all blacks spend their time pimping rides and rapping!
also, it's funny how even mainstream acts still have the same problem and attitudes as small, local acts.
OMG!! What WILL we do without another piece-of-crap rapper? Don't worry though; there are plenty more dropouts where he came from.
