Next they uploaded a sort of mini-trailer for the as-of-yet untitled album, their first since 2005's 'Bleed Like Me.' The trailer, backed by ethereal guitar loops, features a video of a piano as well as a whiteboard that sports what look to be potential song titles: 'Euchre,' 'Arm Wrestling' and 'Girl Mask Scooter.'
According to Exclaim.ca, the band also released a statement detailing the inspiration behind their new album. "Years' worth of pent-up music came out in some bizarre ways -- bleary cellphone memos became real songs, conversations turned into lyrics, and new computer gizmos inspired wicked tangents," they explained. "Ghosts came in, had their say. Everyone brought ideas, and everyone fought their corner. At the end of the day it all gets shoved through the four-way brain filter that is Garbage and it ends up sounding like nobody else. Red feathers and black tar."
Though no official release date has been set yet, their twitter feed says fans can expect new music early this month.
In other news gleaned from their Facebook page, the band is also really into indie pin-up girl of the moment Lana del Rey.
