Her sold-out 10-date tour was scheduled to begin Oct. 7 in Atlantic City and continue throughout the month, ending in Grand Prairie, Texas. After completing a successful U.K. tour, doctors diagnosed the 23-year-old with a vocal cord hemorrhage -- the same ailment that led to her previous cancellation in April.
"Singing is literally my life. It's my hobby, my love, my freedom and now my job," she said in a statement released by Columbia records. "I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully or I risk damaging my voice forever."
"I've been offered the chance to not tour at all to save anything like this from happening again, but I simply hate letting you down," she wrote in a note to fans on her website's blog.
The 'Rolling in the Deep' chanteuse ensures fans, however, that after vocal rehab she will "smash the ball out of the park." Get well soon Adele!
