Highlight: "I suppose if there was one broad sweeping sentiment behind the song, which I feel totally awkward even considering, it would be idea that we become the sum of our experiences," Michael Dawson, the lyricist who plays synthesizers, keyboards and the drum machine, tells Spinner. "The lyrics originated while I was spending some time alone in Mexico. I remember sitting on a sketchy little terrace outside of a shady hotel looking out at the water and just thinking about how I felt so incredible alone and anonymous but not the least bit lonely. I never have the nerve to write something that honest so instead I wrote the song to take the piss out of people who seemingly experience things solely to post about it on social networks. It was such a pleasure to work with Humble Empire on the video and pursue their concept. In the end I think they captured the spirit of the song perfectly."
