"'Amy, My Daughter' will be a must read for Amy's legions of fans, and also a heart-breaking account of a father's love for his lost daughter that will speak to any parent," Nick Canham, editorial director for Harper Non-Fiction, said in a press release. "The strength Mitch Winehouse has shown over recent months is truly admirable. His desire to create a definitive account of Amy's life, that will solely benefit the foundation he has established in her name, is something that we are incredibly proud to be part of."
"I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery," Winehouse said in a statement.
All proceeds from the book will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, an organization that aids children and young adults that face drug-addled adversity. It is currently slated for release in 2012.
