Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon Split

Matador Records reports: "Musicians Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore, married in 1984, are announcing they have separated. Sonic Youth, with both Kim and Thurston involved, will proceed with its South American tour dates in November. Plans beyond that tour are uncertain. The couple has requested respect for their personal privacy and does not wish to issue further comment."
Moore met Gordon in New York in 1981 through her old band CKM and the two formed Sonic Youth with Lee Ranaldo. They had their daughter Coco in 1994. The married musicians have both been involved in independent side projects, with Thurston Moore's record label, Kim Gordon's art endeavors as well as their several separate musical efforts.

Many people here just disgust me; have you guys never understood what true "indie" once was in the 80s? Do yourself a favor and listen to Daydream Nation, and Silver Rocket from that album; otherwise, Wikipedia Sonic Youth and be educated.
