The 61-year-old singer underwent tests after being treated for an inflammation of the colon, and according to a rep, his wife, Dwina, was "desperately worried" about her husband's health.
Last year, Gibb had emergency surgery to correct a blocked intestine -- the same ailment that killed his twin brother and bandmate, Maurice, in 2003 -- and earlier this year, the non-drinking vegetarian cancelled shows in the United States and Brazil following another round of stomach pains.
"Obviously it is a worry," Bee Gees manager Michael Eaton told People U.K.. "This is what did it for his brother Maurice -- but what is different is his condition was left for a long time and Robin's has not been."
"Our concern is that it keeps recurring but he is determined and we just hope things will be OK," Eaton added. "Robin just wants to get back to work."
On a bright note, Gibb stands a chance of setting a new record for British pop-music longevity. Should his upcoming single 'I've Gotta Get a Message to You,' a classic Bee Gees tune he rerecorded with a group of soldiers, reach No. 1, it will mark the sixth decade in which Gibb has topped the charts.

sounds like he might have Crohns disease -- it runs in my family as well. Very difficult disease to live with, but it is treatable.
"LL", just go home. Get a real job or take a shot at getting a life.
Hope Gibb gets all the help he needs; they did great stuff. Sorry he's ill.
BEST WISHES AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY
