John Lennon's Tooth -- Yes, Tooth -- to Be Sold at Auction

Yes, that's right -- as the BBC reports, one of the late Beatle's teeth will go under the hammer on Nov. 5 and is expected to fetch nearly $16,000. Thankfully, the tooth wasn't pulled from Lennon's corpse, but instead was given by him as a "souvenir" to his housekeeper, Dot Jarlett.
According to the son of Jarlett's son, the singer had the tooth removed in the kitchen of his Surrey mansion sometime in the late '60s. "He was in the kitchen and he had this tooth which he had wrapped in a piece of paper," Barry Jarlett told the BBC. "He said: 'Dot will you dispose of this' and then he said: 'Or, as your daughter's a Beatles fan, you can give to her as a souvenir.'"
A representative for Omega Auctions, Karen Fairweather, admitted that auctioning off a tooth is a bit odd. "This is the most wonderful and weird item that we have ever had for sale," she said.
"We are expecting it to achieve at least £10,000 but it is not unknown for these items as rare as this to reach six figures."
To reiterate our stance on the issue: No!

Couldn't even toss it in the trash himself?? I thought he liked to be on the level of the common person. And then he suggests that they can keep it to remember his greatness? Would you like me to poop in a jar of alcohol too, so you can keep that around as well and show all your friends someday?
I never liked John Lennon. I liked the Bealtes, but John was my least favorite of them. I respected Paul the most musically, and I think I liked George the most for the sweet edge he brought to everything. But I could really do without alot of what John Lennon brought to the Beatles or to anything else for that matter. The others had manners. They could be gentlemen. They didn't rock the boat, they just rocked the house! :-) But John was a trouble-maker and I sometimes equate him a little with Jim Morrison. The kind of person who likes to jump around like a nut just to get attention and be a smartass and a pervert. Maybe it turned Yoko on but I don't think I just speak for myself in saying I can really do without alot of what he said and did.
Who going to buy it.?.what would you do with it ?....Why doesn't this guy want it ?...It was a gift !...you keep that darn thing..!.....enjoy !..ok I bid $5 bucks....whoooah !

Anyone out there want to start the bid? I also once owned what I refer to as a John Lennon special. Sold it tho.
