Stone Roses Reunion Tickets Going for £1.2 Million on eBay

On the morning of Oct. 21, over 220,000 tickets were sold in under an hour. The retail price for each ticket? £55. It looks like the 17-year gap since this lineup performed together has earned this band more than their initial keep from the late '80s. If you do the math, that's $19 million for just three shows in Manchester, England next year.
Excited fans aren't just gearing up for the concerts -- they're selling the tickets online at huge markups, which is making this reunion one for the record books. Besides the overpriced tix pictured above, a quick search of eBay shows that many Roses tickets are garnering three times their initial value.
Are you one of these lucky people with a Stone Roses ticket or do you wish that they remained in seclusion forever?

So..people post an ite, with an outrageous bid just so stupid blogs will give them publicity. And a stupid blog like you fell for it.
Doesn'ttake an internt genius to click on Completed Listings and see that the highest any ticket ACTUALLY sold for was about £100, for £66 face value tickets. A pretty LOW mark up when it comes to scalping.
Typical yanks, you haven't got a clue have you. You do realise there is a whole wide world outside of your crap country. Stone Roses are a top band and there gigs will be unbelievably good next year.

John Squire is an idol of mine and I appreciate The Stone Roses' music just as much, if not more, than anyone else - and I'm an American. Leave the bigotry at home. If you are truly passionate about TSR's music than it shouldn't matter what the "Yanks" think.
P.S. I'm assuming you're from the UK? Your food sucks. Cheers.
Typical ungrateful Brit! Some of your greatest bands ripped off AMERICAN blues!

Second, for those of you bagging on them because you never heard of them, it's your loss. Their debut album was the best album of the 80s and one of the best of all time.

October 22 2011 at 3:33 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI have no idea who this group is, but I would never pay more than the price on the ticket. I had friends who went to see Britney Spears and paid 125 dollars per ticket, and she doesn't even sing live. People are stupid.
