"In the absence of life there is death, and in the absence of happiness there is sadness," the band wrote on their Facebook page upon hearing the tragic news. "Today the world lost a son, a boyfriend, a best friend, a brother, a kick ass drummer, a teammate, and one of the greatest guys we ever got to meet. Words cannot express the devastation.
"We would like to send our condolences to his family and his girlfriend. And to our friend and brother Aaron, we're gonna miss you man and you'll always be our man behind the cymbals. Keep smiling that larger than life smile up there brother. Forever gone but never forgotten."
The group later posted a photo of the makeshift memorial set up for Beamish -- who also went by the moniker "Aaron Arsenic" -- at the busy Toronto intersection where the fatal accident occurred.
Slow Motion Victory continue to thank fans and fellow musicians for the "endless letters, love and support throughout this dark time." Beamish's former bandmates are also asking anyone with video footage or pictures of the late drummer to contact slowmotionvictory@hotmail.com as they're working on a tribute. Although nothing has been confirmed, there is speculation that a memorial or benefit concert could also be staged.
No charges have been laid but an investigation continues.
