Robin Gibb Appears Frail, Gaunt After Missing Meeting With Prime Minister

On Monday, Oct. 24, Gibb was scheduled to meet Cameron during a promotional appearance for his new charity single, a reworking of the Bee Gees' 'I've Gotta Get a Message to You,' which benefits Royal British Legion fundraising group the Poppy Appeal. The singer skipped the meeting because he was too ill to attend, but later felt well enough to appear on 'The Alan Titchmarsh Show.'
Gibb has been suffering from intestinal problems for the past few years. His latest hospitalization came 10 days ago after he experienced severe abdominal pains, and he was forced to cancel shows in April due to a mystery illness. Last year, Gibb underwent surgery for a blocked intestine, the same ailment that killed his twin brother and bandmate Maurice in 2003.
According to the Daily Mail, Robin's manager said, "Obviously it is a worry. This is what did it for his brother Maurice -- but what is different is his condition was left for a long time and Robin's has not been. Our concern is that it keeps recurring but he is determined to get better and we just hope things will be OK. Robin just wants to get back to work."
Get well soon, Robin.

I'm terribly saddened to read of Robin's illness and seeing this photo. Robin's always been quite thing, but never this thin.
My heart goes out to you Robin. Get better! We all want to hear new music from you! : ) And you need to keep Barry in the groove!!!

So self-effacing, so humble, yet so extraordinarily talented. I just watched videos of "I Started a Joke" from three different phases of his life. What a wonderful, gentle soul. God bless you, Robin. May the joke be on death this time.

November 05 2011 at 12:33 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWowreading all the comments-I cannot believe how horribly insensitive some poeple can be-if you don't like him or their music-don't leave a comment. I think he has the most beautiful voice in music-and while many poke fun at how he looks-look deeper-this man has one of the most beautiful selfless souls, which makes him beautiful to me inside and out. It is very sad to see anyone sick, let alone someone who has bought much comfort and joy to us through song-especially while dealing with their own set of heartaches. GODSPEED RECOVERY ROBIN!!!

Their genius will never be diminished with time or supassed.
family has certainly had it's tragedies.. but what incredible talent they were blessed with

Robin looks bad and I wish him all the BEST but this bad seems to be more than what is being said? ROBIN GET WELL SOON - LOVED YOUR MUSIC FOR YEARS UPON YEARS. All the best to you!!!

The sooner the better....
