In Their Words: "Hollie [Cook] and I went down to the theatre to see a play entitled 'A Love That Kills.' We were living in San Diego above an avant garde art space where quite frequently plays and performance pieces were presented for $5-10 a ticket. This play featured two large men in drag who had a more than dramatic relationship and culminated with one of them killing the other by beating her with a dildo. Though this inspired the song (in an abstract way), the subject matter did not leak into the lyrics. We wrote the words about a surreal building where children go to watch their lives unfold above the city's evening skyline. Don't ask. Ha ha." -- Vocalist Charles Rowell
