Artist: Baywood
Video: 'One by One'
Highlight: "It was two days before shooting and we had this conference call. We were trying to figure out how to shoot this thing -- in 3D," vocalist Jarrad Kritzstein tells Spinner. "I had done a few 3D videos in the past, but never something that needed to be this planned. It was a real blast to prep, but also very stressful and hectic. Joe and I both saw the video in our heads and had to explain it to the other guys. After a long conference call, we decided to make it one shot. Originally we had planned to maybe shoot it in two passes to give the artists some extra time to make that huge 9'x12' mural, but in the end, we decided that, since Baywood does everything handmade, DIY, imperfect, we would just wing it. So we told the artists to create the painting in nine minutes, slowed the song down to the nine minutes, and had toperform the song in ultra slow motion. It was so hard to get the vocal and guitar timing right, but it worked out better than we even thought."
Guitarist Joe Ginsberg had this to tell Spinner. "We wanted to make this video fun, simple, and organic to fit the vibe of the song. It was a simple concept that we couldn't have pulled off without the help and love of our friends. It was such a blast to make and we hope it makes you just as happy to watch."
