Head over to the group's site and you'll find an online postcard where fans can place photos of themselves (and their facial hair) and then send a special greeting to friends or loved ones. "Greetings from Sunny CAKE," the postcard reads with a sunset on the horizon, with "Love, The Mustache Man" at the bottom.
"It's time for the mustache to become a force for positive change -- for many years it was just the opposite, but life is so unpredictable," wrote CAKE frontman John McCrea, who spoke with Spinner earlier this year about his childhood fear of 'staches.
According to the band's Movember donations page, CAKE have received $740 US in donations so far. So far over 300 people have joined the competition with different categories established for 'The Largest,' 'The Most Dangerous' and 'The Most Nostalgic.' Winners will be chosen in each category with the grand prize winner receiving a special package for CAKE's New Year's Eve show at Atlanta's Fox Theater (we're talking concert tickets, round trip airfare for two, two-night accommodations and other perks).
The contest -- which is named after a track from the band's latest effort, 'Showroom of Compassion' -- ends Dec. 3, with the hairy winners announced on Dec. 6. So if you want to walk away victorious, ditch the straight blade or electric razors now!
