'A La Modeliste' was produced and written by Ronson, and features legendary Meters drummer Zigaboo Modeliste, the soulful croons of Erykah Badu and the unique hip-hop stylings of Mos Def. "She was cookin that gumbo/We could tell cause we smelled the smoke," Badu sings while Trombone Shorty and members of the Dap Kings get brassy in the pit. Ronson's ability to combine these fine talents at the edges of New Orleans jazz and neo-soul have certainly stewed into a delicious dish.
On the dancier side of 'Re:Generation,' L.A. electronica duo the Crystal Method have teamed up with Motown mama Martha Reeves and Detroit-based session greats the Funk Brothers for a slammin' new R&B banger 'I'm Not Leaving.' Bringing Reeves' talents into the new millennium was easy for the Crystal Method as they wove and morphed her voice through beefy bass lines and an infectious beat.
'Re:Generation' the movie is due out next year. Check out the tracks below and let us know which one is your favorite!
