Death Cab for Cutie's 'Underneath the Sycamore' Gets Remixed by Dillon Francis -- Song and Video Premiere

Dillon Francis' remix of Death Cab for Cutie's 'Underneath the Sycamore' takes the song and flips it on its ear. In the hands of the young Los Angeles electronic whiz, what starts out as a midtempo Death Cab via New Order pop song becomes an upbeat twister.

'Codes and Keys,' on which 'Underneath the Sycamore appears, is a much less guitar-centric album than previous Death Cab releases and certainly lends itself to the remix treatment. Ben Gibbard's signature sad croon gets pitch-shifted to within an inch of its life and his "We are the same" hook is looped and transformed from a mellow reassurance to an urgent mantra.
