The rest of the video reveals a struggling, cramped relationship, which seems reasonable if your significant other sees himself as a metal gargoyle with wings coming out of his face. The video shows fitting fascination for geometry, as the band deals in the same angular music as fellow countrymen Phoenix.
"This video is basically an extension of the artwork of 'Alesia,' our second record," the band tells Spinner. "We built our very own mythology on the face of the chrome wing man. But the heart of this video is more a deep hypnotic love story than anything else. A sci-fi romance in a dreamy Paris. So very human eventually.
"It was directed by Sanghon Kim, a brillant artist, who worked with such talented artists as Air. The film was produced by Irene (Metronomy, Two Door Cinema Club) in collaboration with Machine Molle (for the SFX) responsible of the best videos of Justice, Kasabian and M83."
'Alesia' is available now via Kitsune/Cooperative/Downtown Records and the band will tour the U.S. this December with Yelle. Get the dates here and check out 'Chateau' below.
