Mark Mallman, 'Minneapolis' -- Video of the Day
Video: 'Minneapolis'
Highlight: "When I was a kid, space ships in movies always looked like upside-down cities to me," Mallman tells Spinner. "I used to lay on my driveway trying to send messages with my brain to alien ships. So when the director asked for a creative way 'Minneapolis' could appear, I told him, 'A spaceship. I want to phone home to Minneapolis from way out in the farm land.' I wrote the song after a 36-hour drive from L.A. Seeing the skyline for the first time after that long drive felt just like being rescued."
