In House With The Naked and Famous: Slurping and Shooting to Stop From Going Stir Crazy -- Exclusive Video

In House is AOL Music's series in which we welcome artists into our offices to play some music, chat with our staffers and, generally, just hang out. For our latest visit, we sat down with New Zealand rockers the Naked and Famous to discuss their album 'Passive Me, Aggressive You' and their whirlwind 2011.

From the moment the Naked and Famous walked into Spinner's Manhattan office, we could tell the road had exacted a certain toll from the band. The gang of five exuded a palpable, playful energy of going stir-crazy in a tour van as they sat down to discuss the busiest year of their lives.

"We have a couple of Nerf rifles that are $4 each. We modified them so they explode as well. Someone shot someone in the eye on the tour bus and now our tour manager took them from us," drummer Jesse Wood confides to Spinner.

The band is brimming with youthful energy. You can hear it combust on the tracks that constitute their debut album, 'Passive Me, Aggressive You,' and since their record hit shelves in 2010, the Naked and Famous have been faithfully touring behind it, almost without any breaks. The constituent members of the band amuse themselves by taking hilariously loud sips of water over the course of our conversation, speaking about what it's like to be absent from their native New Zealand, the ways in which they decompress and unexpected influences.

"One of my favorite albums is called 'The New Danger.' It's a Mos Def album. People are surprised by the fact that we like different music," guitarist Thom Powers says. "My whole perception of music is that there is something to be appreciated or at least understood in every genre."
