Polica Deliver Digital R&B With 'Lay Your Cards Out' -- Song Premiere

Polica deals in a type of R&B inflected electronic music that defies explanation. What can be said is that music with this many synthetic textures and vocal treatments has rarely sounded so natural.

Polica is the undertaking of vocalist Channy Leaneagh and Ryan Olson, who worked together on their previous project GAYNGS. For 'Lay Your Cards Out' the duo enlightened the vocal assistance of Bon Iver's Mike Noyce.

"I wrote this song when I was lost in a long list of troubles and thought I was done for," Leaneagh tells Spinner. "It's about releasing yourself from a wayward path, pulling your mind back into your body and telling the people around you to show themselves plainly without any masks so you can make sure they are safe and trustworthy companions."
