Amy Winehouse's 'Lioness: Hidden Treasures' Tops UK Charts

As Spinner previously reported, Amy Winehouse's posthumous album 'Lioness: Hidden Treasures' hit record store shelves this week. The late singer's father has since hit the Twittersphere to share some surprisingly good news about the record's current sale stats: "Just been told. Amy at number 1. 140,000 sold = £140,000 to foundation in one day. Well done baby."

In just one day, Winehouse's newest album soared to the top of the U.K. charts according to the Hollywood Reporter. Though the official album charts for this week for not yet been released, Island records confirms that Winehouse's last effort indeed captured the top spot.

"My heart is sad but bursting with pride," Amy's father tweeted after hearing the good news. All proceeds from the Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi-produced record will go directly to the new Winehouse charity which will benefit children in need. Mitch Winehouse recently revealed to London's The Evening Standard that listening to his daughter's final works was quite difficult. "On one hand it was very difficult for us to listen to the album, on the other hand we had to do it to ensure the quality was as it should be."

'Lioness: Hidden Treasures' is currently available via Island records.
