The concert will take place at London's Alexandra Palace from May 25-27 with the band performing on the final day. The Afghan Whigs formed in Cincinnati in late 1986, delivering a string of critically acclaimed albums and blistering live performances throughout the '90s until they finally disbanded in 2001.
Afghan Whigs have also announced that frontman Greg Dulli will curate the All Tomorrow's Parties fest in Asbury Park, N.J., where they will headline on Sept. 22, 2012.
The band will be replacing Guided by Voices, another recently reunited band, in the London lineup. Despite their cancellation (and a spate of rumors), the GBV reunion is still on the books, with a new album, 'Let's Go Eat the Factory,' due out in January. The lo-fi rockers are also at work on another LP, 'Class Clown Spots a UFO,' and frontman Robert Pollard will release a solo record, 'Mouseman Cloud,' in March.
