Any 2011 best-of list WITHOUT "The Joy Formidable" has absolutely no credibility ! If you don't believe me, just check out their debut release "The Big Roar" and their numerous, awesome live performances on "YouTube" and accolades from respected musicians (i.e. Dave Grohl), reviewers and fans. "The Joy Formidable" was one of THE BEST in 2011 and will be a major force in the future.

The title track just rocks, the video 'Girl Panic' is sparking both acclaim and controversey (and for the same reason!) Beautiful song 'Mediterranea' will make you want to book a flight to somewhere warm and tropical. Most on that list I had never heard of, and some looked like they only had those titles for shock value (getting old by the way). I am all for new talent, but a majority of these are just new no talents.

December 29 2011 at 7:09 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI know this genre "Rock" is kind of not known by some but how the hell is Foo Fighters - Wasting Light not on this list?!?!?!?
December 29 2011 at 6:31 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Reply"Mission Bell" not even on the list?! I know it's all subjective, but Amos Lee is easily one of the most talented singer/songwriters to come along in quite awhile. His songs of lost love have infinitely more depth and perspective than Adele's.

December 29 2011 at 5:47 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI was glad to see "The Black Keys- El Camino" on here. I have only heard one of their songs on "The Colbert Report" and they were very good. I should make it a habit to listen to them.
