"'Simple Girl' was the first song we wrote and recorded together as Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr," the band said in a statement. "We worked on it with absolutely zero expectation that anyone would ever hear it, or that the two of us would go on to become an actual 'band'. It's almost two years to the day since it was complete, and it seems like a fitting idea for us to allow the outside world to attempt to improve upon it ... especially since it was the spirit of unbridled collaboration on that song that led Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr to exist in the first place."
The contest runs until Jan. 16 and all the details about entering -- not to mention, the song stems -- can be found by clicking here. The winner will have their song featured on Spinner RPM and the band's Soundcloud page and social media feeds, and will also receive a "suite" of SoundToys products.
Meanwhile, be sure to pick up Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.'s 'My Love Is Easy -- Remixes, Pt. 2' EP, which features the work of Chuck Daniels, Phantasmagoria, Tiger and Woods, Pictureplane, Memory Tapes and Shout Out Out Out Out.
