Easily the most controversial choice on the list. While others have sampled Kenny Dixon Jr.'s voice in the past, fans took particular issue with Oliver $'s uncredited usage of live vocals from a Moodymann set on this bass-driven crowd-pleaser, which proved to be a fantastic tool for DJ's, and one of the year's biggest tracks, though perhaps not its most enduring.

The B-side wins on Miami tech house hero Danny Daze's 'Your Everything' EP on Hot Creations, thanks to a filtered vocal and some hazy synths.

A little French touch on this breezy Summer house ballad by Surkin, Para One and Bobmo, collectively known as Marble Players. Perfectly euphoric and dreamy.

'Take It Back'

Yet another wistful deep house instrumental by Irish producer Mano Le Tough, 'Take it Back' was released via Ben Watt's' Buzzin' Fly label, and sounds like something you might hear in a modern John Hughes film. The perfect soundtrack for a late-night public-transit ride.

'Man or Mistress'

Levon Vincent

After holing up in Indiana, where he recovered from a crippling spinal injury, New York house king Levon Vincent returned with renewed fervor in 2011, releasing two excellent 12-inches on his Novel Sound imprint. 'Man or Mistress,' happens to feature our favorite synth line in recent memory.

'Knight Moves (Lone Remix)'

It felt like Lone finally began to receive his due in 2011, and his sunset reworking of Canadian pianist Chilly Gonzales' euphoric Boys Noize-produced single is the prolific Brit's best work yet.
