Cat Power's New Song 'King Rides By' Released, With Manny Pacquiao Video

This Christmas Eve, Cat Power made good on her Twitter promise and released a new track, 'King Rides By,' her first new original song since 2008.

The singer-songwriter posted the new song with a video featuring boxer Manny Pacquiao working out on a speed bag in slow motion, with the rhythm of his punches almost perfectly syncing up to the seven-minute track. Check it out below to see what we mean.

Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall) has yet to reveal the details of what should be her ninth full-length and her first of all-new songs since 2006's 'The Greatest,' but we're assuming it will be released this year. As Rolling Stone reported (via the good people at Antiquiet), Marshall aimed to play all the instruments on the new record, after feeling a bit underwhelmed by her latest efforts: "I think I was inspired by being disappointed in myself that I'd just been holding the microphone and I was disappointed in myself that I hadn't been playing an instrument."
