Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt: 'What Are You Doing New Years Eve?' (VIDEO)

Zooey Deschanel is everywhere these days. From fronting her band She and Him with songwriter M. Ward to starring in FOX's newest hit comedy 'New Girl,' this singer/actress is now a permanent fixture in the American household. While recently hanging out with her '500 Days of Summer' co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the musically-inclined pair performed a duet for the YouTube willing (via The Insider).

"Are we recording?" a suited-up Levitt asks the laptop camera, followed by an emphatic and Monroe-esque "Happy New Year!" from Deschanel. The couple performed a cover of Nancy Wilson's 'What Are You Doing New Years Eve?' trading vocals back and forth. Deschanel looks as pixie as ever in a shiny silver dress, complete with an ironic tiara.

"I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called 'Manic,' where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since," the singer writes on her "adorkable" blog HelloGiggles. "When we did '500 Days of Summer' eight years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and makeup trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he's simply the best."

As Spinner previously reported, Deschanel recently split from her rocker husband of two years, Ben Gibbard. The couple claim no external factors or extra-marital affairs caused the breakup.
