"The idea of communicating your song visually is super important and an amazing thing for an artist to say, 'Hey, we can create something that is meant for your ears, but then we can create another thing that kind of gets that point across visually as well,'" guitarist Tom DeLonge says in the video below.
The band had searched for the perfect music video treatment for quite some, poring over 30 different concepts. Finally, director Isaac Rentz matched the song's youthful exuberance to a perfect night spent between two troubled friends. The behind-the-scenes look also shows the band's funny side, as Mark Hoppus explains the performance footage.
"We are here today at a gigantic blimp-making hanger from the 1940s in Tuscan, Calif. This place looks badass. They're shooting us [in front of] this giant doorway so the light is spilling in, silhouetting us like Greek gods. Hopefully we look cool."
