At the outset, we see Skrillex alone in a hotel room, working on his music. "I make all my records in hotel rooms, pretty much," he says in a voiceover. "Just wherever I can. I've made records in car rides, if we have like a long trip to a show. All I need is my laptop and my headphones. That's all you really need I think for what I do."
From there, we see him collaborating in the studio with Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore, laying down the foundation for the song. Interspersed with that is footage from Skrillex's light-heavy stage show and backstage clips of him meeting fans and smoking.
Aside from the keyboard and guitar riffs, Densmore's bongo hitting and the repeated yelling of a few phrases, it doesn't look like the Doors guys have much to do here. But it seems like more than enough for Skrillex, who is shown using his trusty laptop and some studio equipment to add in the beats and his usual brand of whomping synths.
So, for any of you who were confused, did this clear up anything?
