Chairlift Singer Deals With 'Crazy Girl' During 'Something' Record Release Show

"Btw, shoutout to the crazy girl who came on stage last night," the group tweeted the day after the Jan. 23 gig. "Sorry we had to kick u out, but that was not nice what u did. Caroline was almost killed but I didn't miss a note :0."
A YouTube clip of their performance at New York's Bowery Ballroom provides some insight into the comment. In the video, an overzealous fan climbs on stage with Chairlift and approaches Polachek. When the "crazy girl" goes in to harmonize, Polachek gently pushes her back.
The singer can be seen saying something to her before a stagehand comes out to help. But the dancing fan resists. To protect herself, Polacheck puts her forearm to the fan's throat and pushes her backwards -- impressively, the band carries on playing. This is when the woman begins grabbing at the singer's leg before three roadies finally escort her offstage as the audience applauds.
Let's just hope the fans in Australia, where Chairlift are currently on tour, are a little less clueless about concert etiquette.

I found out about this band on their black cab session (side note: if you haven't heard of, or watched a black cab session... you are really in for a treat when you finally check them out.) Anyway, I've enjoyed just about every artist that has ever played on their videos, but something about Chairlift got me more excited then the others. I picked up the album almost immediately after watching it, and the past few days have been entirely fueled by "Something". I definitely recommend this to friends, family, loved ones, and pets... spread the love for this great musical piece.
