The album's first single 'Positive Vibes,' captures the band's unique attitude. Lead singer Zachary Lipez uses stunted rhythms to inject immediacy throughout the choruses, blending the breeziness of Jim Morrison and the snarling gravel of the Strokes.
Tell All Your Friends
"I thought I'd written a really sweet love song to go along with Jonny's [Rauberts] title that went along with Jonny's jaunty guitar line," Lipez tells Spinner. "It was the first song we sent out when we were seeing if anyone would be down to put out the record. The general reaction was that the 'deeply nihilistic' lyrics were off-putting. Some people can only see their interpersonal relationships in the context of how it would fit into an episode of 'One Tree Hill.' It's a nice love song."
Stream 'Positive Vibes' above and check out 'Raise Up the Sheets' when it hits record stores on March 13.
