"Paul wants you to share your love," says a message on the musician's site and Facebook page. In celebration of his new album, 'Kisses on the Bottom,' and Feb. 14 festivities, McCartney and his team are "setting aside a special space at the top of Paul's [Facebook] page on Valentine's Day for you to propose to your loved one. Good luck!"
McCartney's proposal signup form says "the chosen romantic will be notified on February 12th that they have won...giving them a bit of time to pull out in case of cold feet. Good luck to all the Romantics!" It also stipulates that the proposal must be 10 words or less and includes a space to "tell us what you love about your partner."
The Facebook post, which went up Wednesday, has already received nearly 3,500 "likes" with over 200 comments from fans. And while some offered to marry the Beatles legend, one fan wondered if the "proposal should be more personal?"
McCartney will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday afternoon before performing as part of a special iTunes Live session from Hollywood's Capitol Studios. The free live stream begins at 7PM PST. A Facebook picture posted earlier today indicates McCartney might be using a microphone once used by the late Frank Sinatra during the performance.
For guys planning to take advantage of McCartney's offer, a romantic kiss if she says yes is a good idea. Oh, and do it on the lips -- save "kisses on the bottom" for your wedding night.
