It's not just the Grammys. Every awards show dealing with music is all about the industry. Forget the singers, forget the music. It's now about how much money each act rakes in, and how well every singer and group bows and scrapes in front of their industry masters. The fans, who actually pay all of the bills, are an after-thought, at best. Look at any artist who has the temerity to create their own record-ing label. They're run out of town on a figurative rail, and never heard from again. Unless they bring in loads of money, and are a raging success with fans, their career is over.

Had to turn off the Grammys because I can't even look at C. Brown. And it permanently nauseated me to see all those people who cheered him. Just goes to show what low standards the Industry has these days. Can't believe that trash shared the same stage as Tony Bennett. Now Tony's a class act on and off the stage!

The Grammys used to be about rewarding the the quality of the recorded music itself. Now the show is all about rap, computerized music, and background dancers, lots and lots of background dancers. WTF do background dancers have to do with recorded music or the quality thereof? Most current pop and rock records sound soulless, because they are made with Auto Tune and Pro Tools software, people can't sing and a lot of them can't play real instruments.
The Grammys have morphed into just another Billboard Awards show, where artists are rewarded for how many records they sell, which has nothing to do with "quality", because the average listener today wouldn't recognize talent if it bit them in the ass.
