During an episode of his Absolute Radio show, Ronnie Wood revealed that he turned down an offer to join an early incarnation of Zep before hitching his wagon to the Stones.
"Peter Grant used to manage myself and Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart and Mickey Waller and Nicky Hopkins back in the good old days," he explained. "He was behind a band that was going to be called the New Yardbirds."
Wood continued, "I had an offer to join, and I said 'I can't join that bunch of farmers.' Anyway, they eventually changed their name and turned out to be Led Zeppelin, and he managed them as well."
So maybe in an alternate universe, Jimmy Page would've joined the Stones and Ronnie would've been jamming out 'Dazed and Confused.' Meanwhile, there's still no word on whether the Stones have taken Ringo's advice and put aside their differences for a 50th anniversary reunion.
