"Oh, thank you, thank you," she said at the start of her Album acceptance speech. She then hugged her entourage and sent a message to her mom: "Your girl did good! Mom, I love you and I'm so sorry you're not here.
"A big thank you to Rick Rubin who taught me about quality control," Adele continued. "This record is inspired by something really normal, everyone's been through it, just a rubbish relationship. It's been the most life-changing year."
But it wasn't all sentimental. Midway though her speech, Adele stopped herself and said "Oh, I've got a big of snot!" before wiping her nose, much to the delight of the crowd.

Finally free of said snot, she ended her remarks by thanking her "friends, my family, Simon, my mom, everyone, and all of you lot!"
Prior to her Album win, which was the final award given tonight, Adele also seemed shocked by her Record of the Year victory.
"Thank you so much," Adele said as she held her gramophone statue. "This is ridiculous."
It wasn't that ridiculous. The singer has been true Grammy bait since she came on the scene with her first album, '19,' and won Best New Artist in 2009. With '21' selling somewhere in the realm of a bazillion copies, it seemed a foregone conclusion that she'd sweep all six categories in which she was nominated (Earlier, she won Best Short Form Music Video, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album and Song of the Year).
"I want to say thank you for every radio programmer and broadcaster that's been playing 'Rolling in the Deep,'" she continued. "It's because of you that it was such a crossover."
"It's not really a pop record, so thank you so much for that," she concluded.
A big congrats to Adele on this amazing night. You deserved it.
