The Foos had previously won Best Rock Song for 'Walk,' Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for 'White Limo' and Best Long Form Music Video for 'Back and Forth.'
"This record was a special record for our band," frontman Dave Grohl said as he accepted the award. "We made this one in my garage with some microphones and a tape machine."
"The human element of making music is what's important," he added. "Singing into a microphone, learning to play your instrument ... It's not about what goes on in a computer."
The Foos already played once at the ceremony, running through 'Walk' outside of the Staples Center, and they are expected to perform again in a tribute to EDM, alongside Deadmau5 (who remixed their song 'Rope'), Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and David Guetta.
The band is also up for Album of the Year.
