"This song was written fairly quickly in a cabin in upstate New York and continues to be one of our favorite songs on 'Feel You're Different,'" singer and guitarist Matthew Reich tells Spinner.
"It is a song about denial, so we decided to go with the concept of being trapped in a box that is soaked in projected images of life events. Even after breaking out of the box we still find ourselves confined by the pieces that we hoped we had left behind. We had a good time playing with the idea of a mystery box a la 'Pulp Fiction' or 'Se7en.' Now we get to turn the lens on you and ask, 'What's in your box?'"
Even though it doesn't sound remotely like it was made in a cabin upstate, perhaps because Bon Iver cornered that market with their uniquely wistful sound, we'll take Lights Resolve's word for it. Conversely, the plugged-in guitar screamer is accompanied by hi-tech visuals, projected images, and mirrors. Check it out below.
