Paul McCartney's Grammy Performance With Springsteen, Grohl Closes Ceremony in Style -- Video

Paul McCartney closed the 54th Grammys ceremony last night with the second half of the medley from 'Abbey Road,' the Beatles' final recording. The set, which consisted of a seamless blend of 'Golden Slumbers,' 'Carry That Weight' and 'The End,' was an unexpected choice but a fitting end to the awards show.

Macca belted out the first two tunes from behind a piano before jumping up and moving to guitar for 'The End,' when he was joined by Dave Grohl, Bruce Springsteen and Joe Walsh of the Eagles for a guitar shred-athon. Though he's known primarily as a bassist, McCartney was able to ring out his often under-appreciated abilities on the six string. The only thing we missed was Ringo, who was supposed to be a presenter and could have banged out his only Beatles drum solo during the opening bars of 'The End.'

McCartney had performed once already that night, delivering a rendition of 'My Valentine,' one of his only original compositions from his recently released solo album, 'Kisses on the Bottom.' Check out both videos below.

sorry, this was NOT the Beatles' final recording, Let it Be was, reporters should be accurate

Yes this was THE only ensemble that ROCKED THE HOUSE at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, and these "old timer's" showed the whipper snappers how it's supposed to be done. Simply put.... They took the show!!!!! Why oh why is the video removed!! Shame shame... that's okay I would be willing to purchase it!

McCartney....the Beatles.....the Eagles......Bruce.......they just don't make real music like this anymore......the Beatles will forever be the best, all four of them, George, John, Paul and Ringo. The writing....the harmonies,,,,are just timeless and forever beautiful. I actually feel sorry for the youth of today for not having grown up with the Beatles. The wise ones will listen and study their genius and appreciate their timeless talents.
