Whitney Houston Funeral: Bobby Brown Not Welcome, Aretha Will Sing -- Report

RCA
Whitney's famous godmother Aretha will send her goddaughter off with a tribute performance at the funeral, which will stream live over the internet. Allegedly, music executive and Whitney's career-long mentor Clive Davis personally asked the soul legend to sing at the event, which is set to take place at Newark's New Hope Baptist Church -- the place where Whitney first found her voice. An ET Online source says that when Franklin was asked to participate, she responded with some variation of, "How could I say no?"
The Rev. Jesse Jackson is also due to appear, NJ.com reports, though he's not scheduled to speak. "I come to show support for the family," Jackson said.
But one member of Whitney's close inner circle that may not be welcome at the ceremony is Bobby Brown. Sources close to Bobby tell TMZ Houston's friends have reached out the R&B bad boy to warn him that he shouldn't attempt to attend the funeral because the "family isn't fond of him."
An insider reported that Brown wants to attend the funeral to support daughter Bobbi Kristina, but has yet to make an official decision. Many accused the singer of being a negative influence on Whitney during their tumultuous relationship and blame him for encouraging her downward spiral into drug and alcohol addiction.
Whitney's body arrived in New Jersey on Monday night, some 48 hours after she died in Beverly Hills, Calif. Initial reports suggested the R&B great would be laid to rest at the 18,000-seat Prudential Center, but her family later announced plans for an invitation-only private affair. Whitney will reportedly be buried at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N.J. next to her father John Russell Houston Jr., who died in 2003.

I admired Whitney as did most of the world but like the death of Micheal Jackson the families has failed to reckonize that each artist had a drug addition and to blame someone other the the person with the addition they have chosen to keep the so called clean image prentending that the only excuse is that someone other then themselves turn them on to drugs. I heard in countless inteviews that Whitney was durning drugs wade before Bobby Brown, and if the family would look back on some of those interviews they will even hear Whitney say Bobby did not influence her to doing drugs just that he did them with her! Blame yourselves as family members for not doing something about the problem to busy blaming the wrong people that you let your love ones go!

-In light of recent tragedies what if we all worked as community on lyrics, poem, etc.? Where we work together… where no one is better than anyone else?
-Why not?
-Below is extremely rough/rushed drafts for example/Extremely sorry about that!
Please feel free to do what ever desired with following:
(Please know not trying to make any statements with following, etc! Don’t pretend to have any answers about such subjects! Thank you for understanding!)
(Nay sayers, etc. please don't apply, etc.)
Speaks volumes
When the sensitive die
Are we too insensitive
Even just to try
To ask the real reasons why?
She is beautiful
Inside and out
But dies alone beneath spirit’s surface… amongst waters of doubt
When will the wise be the ones
To ask what these tragedies are truly all about?
What if we were wrong
About the judgements of History
What really killed him
When all along
Could it not have been you and me?
To say the least
Sadly the countless more
We are all in need of revelations… reach out… save… heal one another
Otherwise what are we truly living for?
When one reaches out… bares their souls
Should these strengths not be praised
For is it not more noble
To seek our own strengths
By eternally comforting those needing to be consoled
Than hiding in the futility of comforting our own insecurities
Judgement's evils and questions raised… need not control?
Bottom line is
We’re all in this life together
And yes we all do rely on one another
For in our present time
And the best of all worlds
Peace without peace within
Never allows for that one true blessed gift
The blessed gifts of peace of the mind
Now if we all always needed somewhere to walk to
Somewhere someplace to call home?
And if we all always needed someone to talk to
Someone somebody when they’re all alone?
What kind of world would that be?
When it’s very simple...
What it comes down to is up to you and me
You and me
You and me
Seek what it means to truly be free
You and me
You and me
For sometimes within such simplicity
Awaits the answers of truly being free
You and me
========
Come in out of the darkness
There’s enough light for us two
Stop chasing shadows
For they can soon stand taller than you
Everyone needs somewhere they can walk to
Somewhere someplace to call their home
Everyone needs someone they can talk to
Someone somebody when they are all alone
Come in out of storm’s rain
For there’s shelter here for us all
Tears can sadly go unnoticed
When shed in lives of pain
Let them fall
Let us comfort you
One and all
Let them fall
Let them fall
For the Sun will shine once again
Not for one but for in doing so… by comforting one another… then for us all
Just a humble thought

Whitney's death is a tremendous lost to all of us I always did and still do feel love coming from Whitney. I lost my oldest sister in 1977 and in 1979 when another GREAT was lost to us, Minnie Riperton, I felt I lost my sister all over again and I lost my second daughter 2005 and losing Whitney is like losing my daughter all over again. All love to her daughter and family I feel your lost, God Bless.

February 16 2012 at 7:29 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI was under the perhaps false knowledge that the daughter is 18 yo. She is the one who decides who should or should not attend the services for her mother, not the rest of the family. They should respect the daughter and shut up. Typically, everybody has to shoot off their mouth for their moment of command and glory.
February 15 2012 at 11:16 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI believe Bobby Brown has every right to be there at Whitney's funeral , they do share a daughter and she will need support through this time ....regardless of the feelings this family may have for him ,He is still Bobbi K father and she needs him right now , not unless she doesn't want him their then that is a totally different story!!!
