Dolly Parton made the song a country hit after it appeared in the hit movie "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas," which Ms. Parton sang it in. Later, Whitney Houston made it a lot bigger, obviously. I will miss Whitney Houston.

And yes, Dolly gets 8 cents everytime it plays on the air or is downloaded on iTunes. She gets 18 cents for every CD of Whitney's that has the song on it. iTune sales of this single was selling at 8000% more than it had before.
Give the guy some credit, he is just paying respects.
So weird, we were just talking about him in the teachers lounge the other day. One kid in our class says that Chris is his mother's uncle. We don't believe him :) Anyway, he did a pretty good job

It was infact covered by her as well IT was written and first performed by DOLLY PARTON. who by the way also STILL OWNS THE RIGHTS TO IT
