"My good friend John Wesley Harding came to me with a new song he had written," Reilly tells Spinner. "He said it made him think of when we first met at a club in Memphis when I was 19 and I sang the traditional 'Cuckoo' song."
"'Old Man and the Bird' is deceptively simple and I immediately loved it as a track for my new album, 'The Well.' I have always loved birds and am happy to play the part of one. We recorded this video on my front porch."
The video is simply shot and unaccompanied by frills -- you can even hear cars drive by in the background. What shines through is a beautiful, wistful take on a dialogue between the two characters. Take a look below.
