Whitney Houston Funeral: Bobby Brown Leaves Early Over Seating Dispute

Update (ET Online): Bobby Brown released the following statement to ET Online: "My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how."

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Whitney Houston's ex-husband, Bobby Brown, has briefly appeared at her funeral before leaving.

Brown arrived as the service began. He walked to the casket, touched it and walked to the back of the New Jersey church Saturday.

Security guards were saying Brown would be seated but the people he arrived with had to sit apart from him. Instead, Brown left and appeared upset.

A message seeking confirmation of whether Brown was invited to the private service was sent to Houston's publicist.

Houston died Feb. 11. A cause of death hasn't been determined.

Houston and Brown were married 15 years and have one daughter. In 2003, police responding to a domestic violence call about Brown found Houston with a cut lip and bruised cheek. Their tumultuous relationship ended in 2007.

Bobby Brown is a loser point blank!! he tried to get some shine and some attention by going up to the casket and kissing then leave. He should of statyed because his daughter needed him whether it was from the back of the church or the front. He was not the only one asked to move, Vivica A. Foxx was asked to moved 3 other times too, but Bobby just knew he wasnt going to be turned away. For the people who said that New Edition should of been there too, if you look back at some of the wedding pictures Bobby wasnt cool with them. The fact that he gave a statement after walking out of the on going funeral says alot about him. Watch and see a book deal coming from him. He wasnt good for Whitney even as hood as she was from Newark NJ she didnt need him. and the fact that he even continued his tour means he wasnt ginuine. your daughter still needed him after the funeral. None of NE cant throw shade at Whitney because half of them were cracked out too. Raph and all

Once again it's the Bobby Brown show. How disrespectful of him to cause any trouble or act anything but humble. He's a loser and God help his new wife and family, If that is the way he shows respect for the 15 years of marriage they did have. He didn't even have to be invited!!LOSER!!! No one can be blamed for introducing a person to drugs!! She was a late stage addict and just couldn't get it together. I'm very sad for all the addicts that can't get it together. It's a loss and an education for all.....

So What if Bobby Brown was asked to move.....he should have been willing to stand in the back of the Church, if necessary. He claimed to love Whitney so much. The proper thing for him to do would have been to keep his mouth shut and attend his x-wife's funeral and support his daughter, whether he was allowed near her or not. This was NOT the Bobby Brown Show, but rather a funeral. Bobby Brown showed Whitney the respect in death, that he showed her in life. He should be ashamed of himself.

I don't understand why everyone is blaming Bobby. Since Bobby and Whitney breakup, he have been doing great. They both did drugs together, Whitney should have left if she wasn't happy with Bobby but guess what? No matter what the family or anyone else may say. Whitney loved Bobby Brown. So, please let her RIP and let Bobby be a father to his daughter.
