Whitney Houston Burial: Singer Laid to Rest at Private New Jersey Ceremony

RCA

WESTFIELD, N.J. (AP) - Whitney Houston is being laid to rest at a private ceremony in New Jersey.

Houston died Feb. 11 in California at age 48. No cause of death has been determined.

She is being buried Sunday at the cemetery in Westfield where her father was interred in 2003. Onlookers were gathering along the route to her gravesite as the police-escorted motorcade headed toward it and the hearse carrying her casket entered the cemetery.

The pop star was mourned at a funeral Saturday at the church in Newark where she sang in the choir as a child. The invitation-only service featured a tribute by some of the biggest names in the music, including Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys. Kevin Costner and music mogul Clive Davis were among those who spoke.

What about the Navy Seals who die every day protecting their own in Afghanistan? They are not mentioned. Whitney is gone and it is sad, but she was no one's hero and was not a good role model. She was a druggie, people! Remember the people who are dying for this country. They deserve a hero's funeral, not Whitney Houston, and she definitely does not deserve to have a flag flown at half-staff for her. Ridiculous!

I think it is outrageous that people lined the streets of the cemetery when the family had asked that it be PRIVATE! Enough is ENOUGH! The public had their chance on saturday for the funeral. Let this family at least bury their loved one in PRIVATE! Come on people, yes she was an icon, but she was also a human being loved by her family. Let them have their moment of solace. Go away and let them mourn their loss!!! For God's sake leave it alone and may she rest in peace and peace also with her loved ones!!!!!!!!!!......

Two female singers.... who knew Whitney Houston before her first single reported on CNN last week " Whitney began taking drugs before she met Bobby Brown" also the person who introduce her to drugs. For years, reports concerning Whitney's brothers (are on or was on) drugs. Also reports on Whintey secret life... " from age 16 she was having an affair with a girl... after leaving home she asked R. Crawford to drop out of college. The couple lived together until 2000 when Miss Crawford moved out, years after she married Bobby and had a child. We really don't know the truth, so please lay off Bobby Brown and talking about issues we read in the (newspaper, internet and reports we hear on the news). Do you really think Bobby Brown only wants Whitney's money from his daughyer?.Number one he is her father, after losing her mother at a very young age she needs her father. Also reports on WHO will get the money ....maybe Bobby Brown will get Whiney's estate, Whitney's family are quite concern whether or not Whitney removed Bobby's name from the estate, also Whitney took care of her family, and Bobby 's family.. The Houston's family wants Bobbi to get the money, houses (everything ) and stay in New Jersey so they can watch and oversee Whiney's estate,....."IT ALL ABOUT THE MONEY " . The Houston's family income stopped the day Whitney died.... I wonder who will support the Houston's now ?

So ,So right they are all out of a job no more pay day for them, the ride is over folks get a real job. I do not think there is any money, she did not write and we know that is where the real money is . I am sick that her stuff is already up for auction. Sad for her Mom and daughter and now afraid the the daughter will follow in her path. This is what she saw a drugged out parent for years,it is what she knows as normal, Heart breaking the whole situation. .I would not be surpised if whit died in debit and owing a lot of money to a lot of poeple.I would I hope that someone does take care of bobby criss, but for the right reasons and show this kid a lot of love and that life is not what she has lived for so many years. I pray for her and Cissy, the rest can jump off a cliff, and they should have protected her, but to sit around eating and drinking on her tab in the room next to her while she died , I am sick over the whole creedy sistuation. True that.... is all about the greenbacks $$$$$$$$$$$$

Not true read up, she was doing coke in the 80's known fact. Bobby may not be a person anyone would aspire to be, but he did not do this to her. She did this to herself and to her child. I am sorry for the family but it is enough, this woman was out of control for years, no one could stop her. She lied bold faced for years "CRACK IS WHACK I AM RICH I DONT DO THIS ITS CHEAP AND I AM NOT" She later admitted to being high in that interview .She was a diva true to the end, only a self centered narcissist would behave this way. To put her self and drugs before being a good mother, who does this? I would not. She did this to her daughter for 18 years. Think about this young woman watching someone she loved, her Mom drugged out all the time. She stole this young womans childhood, what this child saw and what pain she must have felt she could not help the one she loved she was a chi, who does this, certainly not a good person,or a good mother. a good person and mother would have gotten clean and sober and would have stayed clean, Only a very selish person would put their needs before their own childs well being. I do not think that we should hold her up as this great person and angel as her sister in law Pat refered to her. It i wrong on so many levels. I hope that she is in heaven I am not sure about the angel part. look at it this way if this was just a drugged out girl from the projects would anyone be saying these things no , they would be saying well "thats what you get when you live a life like that girl did", so let not be hypocritical. She was what she was no differant then the girl in the street and maybe worse because of the gift she a destroyed. When it was broadcasted this private coming home was now a spectacle for the world to see , this became a very public.Sending a message to millions young adults that It is ok to do drugs, hurt our kids, and as in this case kill our selves through years and years of drug abuse, and it is not ok!!!!! It is a really bad message to put out there. I loved her voice and movies she was a great talent, but that does not make her a good human being, a good mother or a example anyone should want to follow, it just makes her one more sad story in a long, long line of drug addicted entertainers. So, don't blame Bobby he still has his voice and is working and is here for his daughter, I am not a Bobby fan but lets put the responsibility where it belongs and that is on her. It has been reported her daughter is already doing coke and whats so surprising about that, that is all she knows, its what she lived through her entire life , right til the end. This is not a new story Whit was a hot mess, sad but true, and also a great talent , I do not understand how a person can ruin this gift a god given gift and set this example for her daughter, hurt her entire family. Then we glorify &hold her up in this service, lower the flag for her, I wonder what the wounded veterans thought at a flag at half mast. they deserve this.

The world just sent a legend to R.I.P. I hope people allow her too.

Such ignorance and cruelty I have seen and read lately. I know those people i'm speaking of arent ashamed. But I am for them.

But for those of you who are being ignorant and cruel, heres a reminder.

KARMA!!!!!

It CAN and WILL find you, maybe not now.. maybe not tomorrow but soon.

I'm really tired of hearing about this woman. She was a druggie and brought nothing of substance to this world.
