The Shins, 'Simple Song
As we posted earlier, this really reminds us of 'The Royal Tenenbaums' with the jerk patriarch and familial dysfunction. Can't wait to hear the rest of their new stuff.
Islands, 'Hallways'
Disney's 1929 animated short 'The Skeleton Dance' was a favorite of ours when we were kids. Adapting it into a live-action music video is just genius.
Screaming Females, 'It All Means Nothing'
The New Jersey trio's shredding ways turn violent. Not recommended for cat lovers or anyone currently eating.
Firehorse, 'Our Hearts'
The catchy song from Leah Siegel gets a video that's a bit of a head-scratcher. "Love personified by a polar bear in tails?" We didn't quite get that at first, but we're a bit tired today. Either way, this is a fun few minutes, and the song is great.
Lazerbeak, 'Lift Every Voice'
A soothing, captivating instrumental set to visuals that, in our best guess, feel like an LSD trip through an elementary-school art room, in the best way possible.
Polica, 'Amongster'
This video for this beautiful song from the Minneapolis band is like a mashup of 'Planet Earth' and what we think the plot of 'Tree of Life' is (haven't seen it yet). Plus, steamy action!

Woah. The shins is one of those bands that is able to actually capture emotions from past experiences and bring them right back as if we were emotionally time traveling. The blend of this song and video is magical, immaculate, and unforgettable. I consider myself incredibly lucky to be living during a time that a band like The Shins exists... I'm simply blown away by everything they do. I am so anxious for the works on the new album... just three more weeks away!
