And this year, folks can do more than fawn over the longtime rockers, the band -- who were just honoured with the creation of Tragically Hip Way in their hometown of Kingston, ON -- are playing two back-to-back Ontario festival gigs June 30 and July 1, at Niagara-on-the-Lake and Burl's Creek respectively.
Gord Downie and his crew aren't the only ones performing, either. Death Cab for Cutie, the New Pornographers (including Neko Case and Kathryn Calder) and the Rural Alberta Advantage will also help ring in Canada's birthday, which this year will salute the War of 1812.
Tickets go on sale March 3rd at 10AM ET (more info at www.thehip.com). And even if you're not a Canadian and don't care much for Toonies, Loonies or Tim Hortons, there's still a stellar lineup to bring you across the border for the firework-filled festivities.
